5th bfm International Film Festival 2003

Filmmaker Masterclass Starring Tim Reid at Olympia September 7th 2003.
As part of the extensive programme of shorts, features and documentaries and seminars, this year the bfm film festival brings to you its special event the Filmmakers Masterclass with Hollywood Actor/Film Producer Tim Reid and British Actor/producer Leon Herbert. The Filmmakers Masterclass will screen Movie Virgins, the Channel 4 documentary that chronicles the making of Emotional Backgammon. Leon will be on hand to discuss the documentary as well as the film (See ICA programme). This will be followed by the actor/director/film producer Tim Reid will be in attendance to discuss in-depth the making of his film For Real (See ICA programme). For Real was the product of New Millennium Studios, the only black-owned film studio in America.

Please note press attendance is by invite only, Tim Reid and Leon Herbert will be available for interview within a very limited time frame on the day.

The festival
The 5th bfm International film festival 2003 now celebrates 5 years of screening ground breaking Independent films in the UK.

The event takes place between 5th and 18th September and will showcase more than 70 films by black filmmakers from around the world, including the US, Australia, Sweden, France, Canada, Nigeria and the Caribbean. Organized by bfm (black filmmaker magazine) and officially supported by Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, this high-profile event showcases an array of award-winning features, documentaries, and animation and short films by established international talent alongside black British filmmakers.
This year bfm are again screening an impressive number of original projects, with a high quality of work from today's generation of filmmakers
This year bfm will provide a larger event with the festival fortnight including 20 European premieres, exclusive preview screenings, seminars, workshops and masterclasses, it all bodes well for the future.
